Ghost Walk tickets on sale
Darke County
Center for the
Arts will continue a Halloween season tradition by hosting their
tenth annual Ghost Walk in downtown Greenville on Friday, October 25,
Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27. Based on stories
collected by Arcanum resident Rita Arnold which reveal local
encounters with the unknown and unexplained, tours led by local
guides will begin at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall at 7:30 p.m. and
last for at least an hour and a half. In celebration of the popular
fundraiser's longevity, Ghost Walk participants can also engage in a
“Tenth Anniversary Scavenger Hunt” during the event. Winners will
earn free tickets to upcoming DCCA shows; prizes will be awarded each
night.
According to
DCCA Executive
Director Andrea Jordan, the walking tour will include new stories as
well as old favorites including a fantastic tale revealing the
ultimate fate of the famed founder of Fort Greene Ville, General
“Mad” Anthony Wayne. Ms. Jordan also reminds potential
participants that many of the sites visited include uneven terrain
and are located in dimly lighted areas. Also, as in past years, Ghost
Walk will be held regardless of weather conditions; if seriously
inclement weather occurs, all of the stories will be told indoors.
Greenville Masonic Lodge
#143 will serve refreshments at St. Clair Memorial Hall before and
after the event. Also, Mrs. Arnold's books chronicling ghosts from
Darke County and beyond will be available for purchase. Tickets for
the Ghost Walk cost $10, and can be purchased at DCCA's office
located on the third floor of the Greenville Public Library, as well
as at Ann's Gifts and Readmore's Hallmark in downtown Greenville.
Tickets may be reserved by contacting DCCA at 937-547-0908 or
purchased online at dcca@centerforarts.com. Tickets will also be
available at the door.
