Special
Author To
Speak at Library
On Tuesday September
10th writer Chris Cobb will speak in the Reference Room of the
Greenville Public Library at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to hear
Chris discuss his three books and his writing experiences. This is a
great opportunity to meet a very interesting and creative author of
both fiction and non-fiction.
Chris’s latest novel
is Falcon Down, an exciting Cold War story about a pilot shot down
and imprisoned in Siberia who discovers a dangerous espionage program
- and needs to escape to reveal it. Thanks to his sister who speaks
fluent Russian he got the language and culture right! Chris’s
description of how he came to write it is amazing in itself. Falcon
Down is the first in a series with Falcon Rising coming out in
December 2013.
Another novel Phoenix
is also the first of a series called the Outlander Chronicles. It’s
a post-apocalyptic story about a young man who wants to replant
civilization after the biological destruction of the world - “a
parable of forgiveness disguised as a shoot-em-up.” The third book
A Prayer of Moses is a devotional commentary on Psalm 90, “the
result of a sabbatical.“
Chris describes his
life as a “patchwork quilt” due to his many jobs and experiences.
He comes from a high achievement family in the arts, sciences, and
religion, and has worked in computer programming, taught high school
math, then studied to become a pastor at Westminster Theological
Seminary. His current church is Bible Fellowship in Greenville. Chris
is very proud of his artistic family (his daughter did the
covers for the books).
His books are
available on Amazon and he’ll have copies with him. Check out
www.chcobb.com for more info and be sure to join us on the 10th!
