Dementia Education Series scheduled
Brookdale and the Alzheimer’s Association Team Up for Dementia
Education Series
Public and media invited to attend four-week series
A four-week education series designed to help people who care for loved
ones with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Topics for the weekly two
hour class include: Information about Alzheimer’s disease and other
dementias including diagnosis, treatment and stages; The importance of
families planning and preparing for legal and financial issues; Tips
about day-to-day caregiving, activities, home safety and managing
unique behaviors of a loved one; Community resources that are available
such as home care, adult day services and assisted living.
The Alzheimer’s Association estimates there are 591,000 Alzheimer’s and
dementia caregivers in Ohio and the number of people with the disease
is growing. Most care givers take on financial, physical and emotional
burdens to help care for a loved one.
The series will be held at Sterling House of Greenville (a Brookdale
senior living community), 1401 North Broadway St., Ohio 45331.
April 28, May 5, 12 and 19, 2014, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 pm. To register call

family for the entire series. Free respite care may be available.
