Financial
aid night planned for high school seniors and parents
GREENVILLE
– The FAFSA deadline is approaching for all college bound students.
To help parents and students understand this important step in the
financial aid process, Bridges to College and Edison Community
College are offering a College Financial Aid Night at 7 p.m. on Jan.
9, at the Edison Campus in Greenville.
The
information presented will be for any student who plans to attend a
two year or four year college. To be eligible for federal grants,
loans, and work study programs, students must complete the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Many colleges also
require the FAFSA to award institutional financial aid.
Janice
Michael, representing Edison Community College, will give an overview
of the financial process, including filling out the FAFSA. She will
also give strategies for finding scholarships. The deadline for
completing the FAFSA varies, so students should be aware of
individual college’s deadlines to file all financial information.
We
are excited to work with Edison Community College to offer this
program to ALL seniors and their parents in Darke County. Bridges to
College is a nonprofit organization that helps with college awareness
for families and students to go to college. The program includes
mentoring, educational programming and scholarships to Greenville and
Ansonia students.
