Choices
galore at "Barbecue and Blues"
In
addition to lots of music, “Barbecue and Blues,” a festive
fundraiser for Darke County Center for the Arts scheduled for Friday,
July 11 at Turtle Creek Golf Club, will feature food offering an
array of choices to appeal to all ages. According to DCCA Executive
Director Andrea Jordan, Turtle Creek will set up on the lawn three
food stations featuring barbecue baby back ribs, pulled chicken or
pork sandwiches, and Nathan's hot dogs and premium hamburgers. “These
delectable options also feature yummy sides that should please every
palate,” Ms. Jordan stated. A beer truck will also be stationed
outdoors; non-alcoholic drinks and a full bar will be available in
the clubhouse throughout the event. Admission to “Barbecue and
Blues” costs $10; food and drink are not included in the admission
price.
Music
begins at 6:30 p.m., and will be provided by Cincinnati-based blues
band Rhythm Jones featuring Bob Nave, gold-record-owning keyboardist
for the band, and local favorites Aaron Frohna and David Warner.
Sponsors for DCCA's “Barbecue and Blues” are Matt and Angie
Arnold, Tom and Jennifer Bish, Wayne and Sharon Deschambeau, George
and Becky Luce, and Bob and Jean McLear. “We invite the community
to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and head on out to Turtle
Creek for a good time that can be enjoyed by the whole family,” Ms.
Jordan said.
In
case of inclement weather, “Barbecue and Blues” will move into
Turtle Creek's clubhouse. Although tickets will be available at the
gate, DCCA strongly recommends purchasing tickets in advance. Tickets
can be reserved by contacting DCCA at 937-547-0908 or
dcca@centerforarts.net or ordered online at www.centerforarts.net.
Tickets may also be purchased at Readmore's Hallmark in downtown
Greenville, and at Greenville Public Library as well as at Turtle
Creek Golf Course, 6545 U.S. Route 36 East, Greenville.
