Edison hosts college fair at Darke County
campus
GREENVILLE - To help students and parents through the college selection
process, Edison Community College will be hosting a college fair on
March 12, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Darke County Campus in Greenville.
Finding the right school can be an overwhelming task. Factors such as
size, location, and cost all have a major impact on a student's
decision of where they will attend college and how successful they will
be.
Colleges and universities from Ohio and Indiana will be at Edison's
Darke County Campus to talk with students, parents and guidance
counselors about opportunities in higher education. Advisors and
representatives will be able to address questions regarding courses,
tuition, job placement rates for majors, accreditation, the transfer
process, and more. "Being able to visit with area colleges all in one
place is a great advantage for students and parents to become more
informed about the opportunities available to them," said Tracy
Wheeler, College Bound Advisor. Some of the highlighted schools
attending this year's college fair will be, Bowling Green State
University, Indiana University East, International College of
Broadcasting, Ohio State University, Bluffton University, and more.
The college fair is made possible through a partnership between
Edison's College Bound program, Bridges to College and Greenville City
Schools.
Edison's College Bound program is funded by a grant from TG. TG
promotes educational access and success so that students can realize
their college and career dreams. As a non-profit corporation, TG offers
resources to help students and families plan and prepare for college,
learn the basics of money management, and repay their federal student
loans.
Bridges to College is a non-profit organization that provides services
to Ansonia and Greenville High School students and their parents. The
organization is based on the principle of a prosperous local economy
and future high quality of life in Darke County. This is the first
event in which Edison has focused solely on Darke County students to
create college awareness.
Edison Community College will also be highlighting its more than 30
associate's degrees and one-year certificate programs, designed to help
students transfer to four-year colleges and universities or help launch
a professional career. An additional room will also be available to
assist prospective students and parents with questions concerning
financial resources. For more information regarding the College Fair,
