Edison Community College
The Carriers to
Perform at Edison
By Vivian Blevins
Seth Canan and Isaac Schaefer, Jr., musicians and Edison Community
College students from Covington, OH, will perform at 12 p.m. on
November 25 in Room 107 at the College’s Piqua Campus, and the public
is invited.
Known as The Carriers, the two play a mixture of Indie, Rock ‘n Roll,
Blues, Rock and Folk, and according to them, “all things good.”
They will play on stage in the newly-refurbished room at the College
courtesy of the Miami County Foundation, which funded the framed images
of artists on the walls of the large room. The Edison maintenance crew
recently built a stage in the room, and the Edison IT Department
installed new technology.
Seth, a music therapy major, and Isaac, a business major, became
friends in their pre-teen years. With brothers Derrick and Richard who
play in the DC Connection, Seth joined the band as the lead guitarist
when he was 14. When Seth determined it was time to form his own group,
Isaac was his clear choice for the bass player.
Isaac counts the “heavy-hitting Metallica,” Stevie Wonder, John
Entwistle, John Paul Jones, Les Claypool and Beck as his inspirations.
Seth is “powered by the hard rock of AC/DC “ and responds to Elton
John, Ryan Adams, Pete Townsend, Chuck Berry, Norah Jones, and Jimmy
Eat world.
The Miami County Foundation serves as a catalyst for innovative
programs in the arts, community development, education, health and
human services.
