April Blood
Drives, Part 2
DARKE COUNTY, Ohio - Recycling is the theme for April as sponsors
partner with Community Blood Center (CBC) to host blood drives in Darke
County. Everyone who registers to donate will receive a free
“Recycle Life – Give Blood” grocery tote. Donors are encouraged
to schedule an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com.
The sturdy, reusable grocery tote is a nod to “Earth Day 2015”
celebrated April 22 and the rejuvenation that comes when the snow
disappears, the days grow longer, and green buds and bits of color
return to the landscape.
The bright red “Recycle – Give Blood” grocery tote bag is made
completely from recycled materials. The design features the
universal recycling symbol of circular arrows, but altered to include a
blood drop. There is also the CBC blood drop logo and the
messages “100% recycled” and “I Used to be a Plastic Bottle” as
reminders of its earth friendliness. The side panels feature a
black, white, grey and red pattern using the words Reduce, Reuse and
Recycle.
The “Recycle Life – Give Blood” tote is free to everyone who registers
to donate at any CBC Donor Center and most CBC mobile blood drives
Easter Monday, April 6 through Saturday, May 2.
The Easter season can be a challenging time of year for maintaining the
blood supply do to holiday travel and spring vacations. If you
miss a chance to donate CBC encourages you to reschedule when you are
able. We especially encourage the continued support of type O
whole blood donors and type A/B platelet and plasma donors.
