Volunteer
opportunities at Darke County Parks
Below you will find several volunteer opportunities for the month of
March please let me know if you wish to assist with any of them.
Tuesday, March 3rd - Friends of the Park Meeting- 6:30 PM
Are you already a Friends member or would like to join? Please
plan on attending the monthly meeting at the Nature Center.
Friday, March 6th – VTE Meeting- 10AM
Are you interested in helping with the visiting school trips? If so,
please join us for an informational meeting at Shawnee Prairie as we
will review all the programs that we plan to offer this spring. Please
bring your calendars with you.
Friday, March 6th- Maple Syrup Set-Up-1PM
Join us today and help us prepare the Nature Center for the Waffle and
Sausage Breakfast. We plan to set up tables, carry-in supplies, get all
the items in their places etc. Please let me know if you are
available to help.
Saturday, March 7th- Maple Syrup Festival- ALL DAY
We are still in need of volunteers to help with the Waffle and Sausage
Breakfast from 7AM-1PM, Bake Sale 1PM-5PM, and the Sugar Shack from
2PM-6PM. Call the office today to sign up for volunteer openings.
Saturday, March 14th- Nest Box Installation- _10AM
Join us today as we plan to replace and install new nest boxes at
several of the Parks. Please call the office today if you plan to
attend and dress for the weather.
Monday, March 16th- Adopt-A-Park Meeting- 6:30PM
Are you interested in helping make sure our parks are clean & safe
for the public to visit? Join us tonight as we discuss how you can help
with adopting a park! Please let me know if you plan to attend.
Saturday, March 21st- Park Pals- 9:30AM
Join the Park Pals class today and help them remove the invasives from
the woods at Shawnee Prairie Preserve. Please bring hand loppers
and a pair of gloves.
Saturday, March 28th- Jr. Naturalist- 9:30AM
Join a Naturalist today and assist with Jr. Naturalists in building
nest boxes. Let me know if you are interested in helping.
