Volunteers
needed for Nest Box Monitoring!
It’s that time again, time to start maintaining our nest boxes
throughout the parks and preparing them for the nesting season.
Join Parks Naturalist, Mandy Martin on Saturday, February 28 at 10am at
the Nature Center as we would like to begin this project by visiting
all of our parks and do an inventory of boxes. We will designate
a few park locations for volunteers to visit and inspect the boxes then
we’ll meet back here at the Nature Center and decide which boxes need
replaced and/or which park could use some new boxes!
Then on Saturday, March 14, we’ll venture out and replace boxes and
install new ones!
After all of this, the fun begins as we will need nest box monitors for
the season. We’ll go over protocol for monitoring and data
information on Feb. 28!
