Here's What's
Happening in February
It's February... The month we celebrate love. Join us in celebrating
what there is to love about Darke County, Ohio! During the entire month
of February, join us on Instagram {DarkeCountyOhio} and share your
photos of the places you love in Darke County. Be sure to use
#ilovedarkecounty.
At the end of the month, one winner will be selected to receive a
Sweetheart Package to The Inn at Versailles. Package is valued at $200
and includes one night accommodations in a deluxe suite with fireplace
and Jacuzzi, dinner for 2 at Michael Anthony's at The Inn, chocolates
from Ghyslain, wine and a red rose.
Featured Event for February
Versailles Winter Wine Festival - February 21, 6:30 pm
Chase away the winter blues at the First Ever Versailles Winter Wine
Festival brought to you by the founders of the popular event,
Versailles FareFest. The Winter Wine Festival will be held in The
Riviera Room at Stillwater Valley Golf Club and will kick off with a
social hour at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $30 per person and include 5
tickets for beer or wine during social hour, along with complimentary
hors d’oeuvres. Choose from 20 different wine selections and 7
different brews, which are sure to please any palette. Live music will
begin at 8:00 pm featuring great jazz and dance tunes by the Deron Bell
Band. A cash bar and open kitchen will be available until the
conclusion of the evening at 11:00 pm. As part of this annual event, a
silent wine auction will also take place. Proceeds from this year’s
auction will benefit the Versailles Area Museum. Tickets are now on
sale and are limited to the first 180 people. To purchase tickets, call

available for designated drivers (food and entertainment only) at $15
per person.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
The Darke County Center for Arts Family Theatre Series presents three,
beloved stories by Eric Carle, award-winning children’s book
illustrator and author. Performance will take place at St. Clair
Memorial Hall on February 15 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are only $5 each.

Backyard Sugarin'
Join the Darke County Parks on February 28 at 2:00 pm to learn how to
tap your own maple trees, how and when to collect sap, and how to go
about turning sap into maple goodness! Demonstrations and hands-on
experiences will ensure that you'll have the skills needed to produce
your very own maple syrup, sugar and more. Dress for the weather. For

Quaker Influence on Longtown
On February 22 at 2:00 pm,The Quaker Influence on Longtown and the
Union Literary Institute will be the topic during the Garst Museum's
Speaker Series. Mr. Roane Smothers of the Union Literary Institute
Preservation Society will share stories and history on Longtown, Darke
County’s historic tri-racial community. For more information, call the
