The Big Brothers Big Sisters Daffy Duck Derby 2015 and Duck N’ Run 5K
is scheduled for Thursday, June 18 in Sidney’s Tawawa Park. Duck
adoptions are still available, but time is running out! The Daffy
Duck Derby is a fun and exciting way to help children within the Shelby
and Darke County community. When you “adopt” a rubber duck for
$5, or a Daffy Dozen (6 ducks) for $25, you not only have a chance to
win some fantastic prizes, but you have also made a difference by
providing financial support to a Big and Little and our after-school
mentoring programs.
A Big Brothers Big Sisters representative will be selling duck at the
Great Farmers Market on Sidney’s court square on Saturday, June 13th
from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and at the Versailles Poultry Days
following the parade until 1:30 p.m. You may also purchase
tickets at Brew Nation in Sidney, Perkins in Sidney, 47 Bar and Grill
in Port Jefferson, or can be purchased online by going to our website,
www.bigbrobigsis-shelbydarke.org.
Make sure to join us at the Mosquito Creek (by Geib Pavillion) in
Sidney’s Tawawa Park for the day of the race on Thursday, June
18th. The ducks will be dropped in the river by a crane provided
the Sidney Parks at 7:30. Don’t miss out on the chance to see

5K begins at 7:00 p.m. at Geib Pavillion, and the race will start at
8:15 p.m. The race is a part of the Shelby County 5K Tour. Participants

Shirts will be available for purchase at the race for $10 each.
