“Third Floor
Film Series” at Library
The Greenville Public Library's “Third Floor Film Series” is hosting
its very first matinee double feature on Saturday June 13 at 11:00
am. Special effects pioneer Willis O'Brien's ground breaking
visual effects will be on display as the audience screens his two most
legendary film accomplishments: The Lost World and King Kong.
O'Brien's use of stop motion animation (among other tricks)
revolutionized motion picture special effects. If you are only
able to make it to one of these films, The Lost World will begin
promptly at 11:00 am (65 minutes), and King Kong will begin promptly at
12:45 pm (105 minutes). Coffee, soft drinks, candy, and popcorn
will be available free of charge and a brief discussion led by David
Nilsen will follow each screening.
