DCCA's Arts in
Education features Scrap Art Music
Scrap Arts Music will perform at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in
Greenville for junior high students in all local public schools on
Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13 as the final presentation of
Darke County Center for the Arts 2014-2015Arts In Education Series.
“This multi-faceted group 's unique show will entertain mightily with
their original, rhythmically-rich percussion ensemble music while
helping students understand the inter-relationship of music with
science, visual arts, dance, and theatre,” explained DCCA Artistic
Director Keith Rawlins. “Scrap Arts Music creates and plays unique
instruments from recycled scrap materials; the look, the sound, the
experience fascinates and energizes students, while constructively
inspiring imaginations,” Rawlins concluded.
DCCA's Arts In Education programs are presented at no charge to the
students and are free and open to the public. Performance times are
coordinated with the schools' schedules, and are scheduled for 8:30
a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, and 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
