Author’s Night
Features Greenville Poets
It’s become a tradition to conclude the Greenville Public Library's
Friends of the Library’s Author’s Night series with the Greenville
Poets! By April spring is in the air and everyone’s in the mood
for some great poetry. Touching, poignant, deep-felt, happy, sad,
and funny - the whole range of life is captured by these six.
The Greenville Poets formed in 1985 with Miriam Vermilya, Myrna Stone,
and Belinda Rismiller. Today their members are left to right, David Lee
Garrison, Lianne Spidel, Suzanne Kelly-Garrison, Cathy Essinger,
Belinda Rismiller, and Myrna Stone.
As a group they have published ten books of poems, three volumes of
translation, one book of literary criticism, and two anthologies. Each
has won numerous awards, grants, and contests. Join us Friday
April 17th at Montage in downtown Greenville. Doors open at 6:00
and the poetry starts at 7:00. Enjoy music by J.R. Price and Bill
Westfall and a nice supper!
