Library's Film
Series for May
The next event in the “Third Flood Film Series” at the Greenville
Public Library will be Thursday, May 14, at 7 pm. The 1970 film Five
Easy Pieces, starring Jack Nicholson and directed by Bob Rafelson, will
play on the library’s 80 inch flat screen.
Five Easy Pieces was a groundbreaking film in the American movie
landscape of 1970, and it made Nicholson a star. While the title
and its director aren't as widely known to modern movie audiences as
one might hope, the influence of this film can be seen all over today's
independent cinema. Featuring wonderful performances and a whip-smart
screenplay, Five Easy Pieces is a must-see for any serious movie lover.
Be sure to make plans to attend Five Easy Pieces on May 14. Fresh
popcorn, candy, and snacks will once again be available, and David
Nilsen will again lead a brief discussion when the film is over. We
look forward to seeing your there.
