The Poultry
Days Social Tent Promises Another Great Weekend!
Poultry Days 2015 will continue with the largest party in the area and
an incredible line of musicians. Nine live musical acts offer
sounds ranging from familiar festival tunes to alternative rock, to
popular country to solo acoustic. With a Social Tent that
can hold 2,000 people you can choose to be up front by the music or at
a quiet table by the craft bar. If you want to be in the sunshine
or under the stars we will offer more table seating in 2015 with ten
more freshly built picnic tables increasing our seating capacity to
200. When you want a cold beverage, the festival will offer our
ice cold canned Mich-Ultra and Busch Light in addition to Bud
Light. The craft bar will increase their flavors including Shock
Top Lemon Shandy, Johnny Appleseed and Honkers Ale. If beer isn’t
your thing, five flavors of “a-ritas” will be available at the craft
bar and a wide selection of wines from The Winery at Versailles such as
Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Muscatto, Sparkling, Rodeo Red as well as
Sangria wine cocktails and wine/jello shots.
Friday, June 12th 3:00-4:00, On The Radar – Mason DeMange, Mitchel
Rawlins and Isaac Buschur are three Versailles High School
students and no strangers to performing at Poultry Days.
Returning to the Social Tent stage, they bring a high energy show that
rocks the crowd with their mix of Classic Rock and New Rock.
4:30-7:00, The MicStand Band - Making their second appearance at
Poultry Days is the acoustic duo of Mike and Stan McClurg. Two
brothers who got their start playing in back yards effortlessly blend a
selection of Country and Classic Rock into a style all their own.
7:30-11:30, Saw Creek – Led by experienced musician Steve Rosenbeck,
along with his son Zach and two nephews Jared and Jesse Ranly. This
country music band specializes in Classic and Top 40 Country music by
the likes of Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Kenney
Chesney and many more. They have played in Nashville, Toby Keith's bar
and grill, and have opened for artists Dylan Scott and Clark Manson.
Saturday, June 13th 1:00-4:30, Able Danger – The desire to create and
perform music that inspires feeling is the driving force behind Dayton,
Ohio’s Able Danger. The progressive rock band was formed in 2013.
Their debut EP, titled "Chaos", was released in September of
2014. Nikki Luttrell (vocals/keyboard) hails from a family of
musicians, inheriting her father’s keyboard skills and her mother’s
vocal abilities. Guitarist Chris Stewart also hails from a family of
musicians, picking up the guitar at age five. Nikki’s soulful
vocals balance Chris’s commanding guitar and the driving rhythms
formulated by Ben Willis (drums) and Jason Winner (bass). Jason
Winner and Chris Stewart are two more talented Versailles musicians
back to perform in their hometown. 5:00-7:00,
Mark Cantwil– Singer. Songwriter. Musician.
Multi-talented hometown favorite, this recognized solo artist and
songwriter brings an incredible lineup of original music from his two
solo albums “Diggin’ On You” and “Last Chance Johnny” as well as some
crowd-pleasing cover songs. Mark has opened up for National and
Regional acts such as Sister Hazel, The Bacon Brothers, Chris Knight,
John Moreland, Molly Hatchet, Wil Nance, Dan DeMay, Chris Cavanaugh,
Greg Buroughs, Corey Cox and Clark Manson. 7:30-11:30, Eight Ball
– After a spectacular return to the main stage last year, 8-Ball has
been practicing for months and adding new songs just for this
show! Their individual musical talents run deep but when their
powers combine, it’s an incredible sound. A Versailles-based band
who won the Dayton Battle of the Bands in one of their first
appearances. This group started out with Classic Rock and “Big
Hair Band” rock. They soon expanded into popular grunge music
other bands would not attempt to play. Today, 8-Ball plays
grunge, new rock, and older rock songs with a new dated sound. A
dynamic lead singer and powerful guitar backed by inspiring drums and
bass, they are guaranteed to impress.
Sunday, June 14th 1:00-3:00, Shelby County Line - After several
appearances with other groups Shelby County Line, will be taking the
stage for their first full show. While playing all across
the state and many neighboring states, S.C.L. has managed to attend
high school and college courses while still playing hot and
heavy. Their show consists of old time country, southern rock,
rock, new country, and some of their own material. Always putting
on a hot energy packed show, S.C.L. is a band you do not want to
miss!! 3:30-6:00, Taylor Huffman and Bryant Ahrens – Taylor,
teamed up with another Versailles High School grad Bryant Ahrens, after
winning the 2013 Country Concert USA Karaoke Contest and opening for
Little Big Town. Since then they have been active playing local
venues in the Dayton and surrounding area, including opening for
several up and coming artists. Singing acoustic covers of your favorite
country songs, they will surely have you entertained! 6:30-10:30,
Empty Tank – At the helm of this year’s closing ceremonies, Empty Tank
will be bringing down the house! Variety is the ticket and Empty
Tank has it mastered, rocking every genre from 60’s to present.
Always a crowd favorite, this hometown band is certain to pack the
Social Tent for a high energy grand finale to the 2015 Poultry Days
Festival.
