Darke County Lions Blood Drive
Clubs donate
Christmas Teddies for kids at Wayne Healthcare
DAYTON, Ohio – Darke County Lions Clubs are teaming up with Community
Blood Center to host the 20th annual Teddy Bears & Friends blood
drive Tuesday, Dec. 8 from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Greenville
Church of the Brethren, 421 Central Ave.
The Arcanum, Gettysburg, Greenville and Pitsburg Lions have raised
money to buy a cuddly collection of Teddy Bears to donate to young
patients at Wayne Healthcare. The tradition includes hosting a
blood drive and inviting donors to sign a tag on a Teddy Bear as a “get
well” wish for the child who will receive it in time for Christmas.
Everyone who registers to donate will receive the “Buckeye Blood Donor”
football t-shirt. Donors are encouraged to schedule an
appointment online at www.DonorTime.com or call 1-800-388-GIVE.
The “Buckeye Donor” campaign celebrates football championships and the
holiday bowl season. Everyone who registers to donate now through
Saturday, Dec. 19 at any CBC Donor Center and most CBC mobile blood
drives will receive the “Buckeye Donor” t-shirt. The design
features a silver football helmet on a red background with the CBC
blood drop and the map of Ohio as the helmet emblem.
The holiday season can be a challenging time for maintaining the area
blood supply. If you must miss an appointment to donate please
reschedule when you can. We especially encourage the continued
support of type O whole blood donors and type A/B platelet and plasma
donors.
