UC Lions,
Trinity Lutheran and OSU Alumni to hold blood drives
The Union City Lions Club is teaming up with Community Blood Center to
sponsor a blood drive Monday, Nov. 9 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the
Union City City Building community room, 105 North Columbia St.
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pitsburg is teaming up with
Community Blood Center to host a blood drive Thursday, Nov. 12 from
2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 8520 Oakes Road.
The Darke County Ohio State University Alumni Club is teaming up with
Community Blood Center to sponsor a blood drive Tuesday, Nov. 10 from
12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Greenville Church of the Brethren, 421
Central Ave.
The OSU Alumni Club blood drive traditionally includes Buckeye door
prizes and tailgate refreshments in the Donor Café. This year’s
blood drive will feature a return visit by Larry “OSU Buckeyeman”
Lokai, the iconic, red-painted, super fan seen across the country on
nationally-televised Ohio State football games.
Everyone who registers to donate will receive the “Buckeye Blood Donor”
football t-shirt. Donors are encouraged to schedule an
appointment online at www.DonorTime.com or call 1-800-388-GIVE.
The “Buckeye Donor” campaign celebrates late fall as the time of year
when football championships are made. Everyone who registers to
donate Monday, Nov. 2 through Saturday, Dec. 19 at any CBC Donor Center
and most CBC mobile blood drives will receive the “Buckeye Donor”
t-shirt. The design features a silver football helmet on a red
background with the CBC blood drop and the map of Ohio as the helmet
emblem.
Your donation will help patients in need of blood transfusions and
other blood products. We especially encourage the continued
support of type O whole blood donors and type A/B platelet and plasma
donors.
