Attention Teachers!
Students learn
natural and cultural history
Darke County Parks offers hands-on, educational field trips that
immerse students in natural and cultural history. Topics range from
life cycles, to geology, to frontier life and everything in between.
Naturalists are ready for students to visit their facilities, or they
will visit the classroom YEAR-ROUND! Spring still has a few open dates
to schedule a field trip, and May Naturalist-in-the-Classroom programs
are filling up fast. Specifically for 8th grade students this year, a
special history program called “The Civil War” will be conducted by the
Ohio Valley Civil War Association, a premier living history unit on
April 29th. Morning and afternoon sessions are still available. For
more information on all of the programs offered by the Darke County
Park District, call the Nature Center at (937)548-0165, and ask for a
naturalist, or visit the Parks’ Programs section of the website at
www.darkecountyparks.org.
