Artists Wanted
for New Street Art Saturday Program!
Street Art Saturdays will transform downtown Greenville into outdoor
performing arts festivals with musicians and visual artists sharing
their talents with the community, as people gather in the district.
In tandem with the flourishing Farmers’ Market, Street Art Saturdays
will foster the vibrant energy in downtown Greenville making it the
place to be this summer!
For several years now, First Fridays in downtown Greenville have
brought people together to enjoy shopping, dining, music, and to
celebrate our community. Main Street Greenville would like to expand
upon the success of First Fridays with a new idea: Street Art Saturdays!
The idea is develop downtown Greenville into a regionally recognized
arts center and destination by distinguishing itself as a vital
community that fosters, celebrates, and inspires creativity.
Street Art Saturdays will transform downtown Greenville into outdoor
performing arts festivals with musicians and visual artists sharing
their talents with the community as people gather in the downtown
district.
In 2016, we will offer three weekends of Street Art Saturday events,
with the hope of growing the program to 20 weeks in the future.
The 2016 dates will be held on the second Saturdays of the month this
summer:
June 11th
July 9th
August 13th
Each Saturday, we will feature 6 "stages" throughout downtown
Greenville: 1 band, 2 solo/duo musicians, and 3 visual artists.
