Hike with a
naturalist and learn about butterflies!
Do you enjoy watching butterflies? Would you like to assist with
scientific data collection? We need YOUR help to record the
butterfly population of Shawnee Prairie each week throughout the warm
months.
Each Friday at 2pm starting on May 13, we will hike a preset route and
record all butterflies seen within that trail. Experience is not
required. Field guides, nets and all recording materials will be
provided. Your help will allow us to contribute to various
science communities tracking butterfly populations; as an added benefit
to you, this will give you an “excuse” to walk in the park each week!
