Private
Pesticide Applicator Workshops
From Sam Custer
OSU Extension, Darke County
Do you need to become a licensed private applicator??
Are you applying restricted-use pesticides to your land to produce an
agricultural commodity?
Are you applying restricted-use pesticides to grain bins, ponds or
around livestock on your farm?
If “yes”, then you NEED to become a licensed private applicator.
Licensing is required to ensure that applicators responsibly use
restricted-use pesticides.
Several workshops are scheduled to help participants prepare for the
pesticide applicator test. Classes are scheduled for Wednesday,
November 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Darke County Extension
Learning Center, 603 Wagner Avenue, Greenville, Ohio, or Tuesday,
November 29 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. or 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the second
floor meeting room of the Central Services Building at 220 W.
Livingston St. in Celina, Ohio.
This workshop will provide participants with the necessary study
materials to prepare to take the core section of the Private Pesticide
Applicator test. The core section of the test covers the basics
of pesticide application from reading the label to safety and
environmental protection. The class will also review the steps in
determining rate calculations. Interested participants must
pre-register by calling Darke County OSU Extension at 937-548-5215 or
Mercer County OSU Extension at 419-586-2179.
