Help Us Make
Maple Syrup!
Maple sap needs YOU to become maple syrup! Cold Nights And Warming Rays
Bring Running Sap for Maple Syrup Days. Have you ever wanted to learn
how maple syrup is made? Perhaps you already know and want to
teach others. Either way, we could use your help this maple sugar
season.
Sap is a fickle thing, running fast for a few days then slowing for
while and always weather dependent. Our expert volunteers, who
tap and monitor the maple trees, give us up-to-the-minute reports on
when we can expect to be boiling sap. So are you ready to sign up
to help? Here is what you need to do to be added to the list of
potential sap boilers.
1) Call 937-548-0165 or email kmcqueen@darkecountyparks.org
2) When we have enough sap to boil, we will call you with the
dates/times
3) On your scheduled day, meet the Shawnee Prairie Sugar Shack and make
maple syrup!
*You will be called each time we have sap to boil unless you tell us to
take you off of the list*
Thank you for your interest in volunteering and we hope to see you soon!
