Greenville City Schools
Kindergarten
Registration
It is that time of the year to register your child for kindergarten!
Greenville City Schools will be holding kindergarten registration at
the Elementary School Tuesday, April 2nd ( 4:00- 7:00 P.M.), Wednesday,
April 3rd (4:00 – 6:00 P.M.), and Thursday, April 4th (4:00 -
6:00 P.M.), or you can register your child at Memorial Hall,
Monday through Friday from 8:30-3:30. You can also register your
child on-line at https://greenville.esvportal.com. Registering
your child is so very important so we can plan for the most successful
school year. Your child does not need to be present for
registration. Your child must be 5 years old by August 1st
to be eligible for kindergarten.
Once you have registered your child, you will be assigned a
kindergarten screening date. At screening, your child will be
given a short academic, speech and health screening and parents will be
provided with helpful information about kindergarten at Greenville City
Schools. Screening is a great opportunity for parents to
have any questions answered and for students and parents to visit the
school. Kindergarten screening will be held the week of May 6th.
Screening is vital for families to get information about how
kindergarten has changed over the years and learn about our district
and a typical day in kindergarten. We will also gain information
about your child that will help us place them in the perfect
kindergarten classroom.
Students will have the opportunity to get on a school bus and learn
about bus safety. They will also receive a pencil, magnetic dry
erase board and marker, magnetic letters, crayons, scissors, a book
about manners at school, and a Wee Wave drawstring bag to keep
everything tidy. Parents will learn how to use these materials
with the students to provide the best start to school curriculum.
Please register your child early so that they can be included in the
screening process. This will help us with providing an
exceptional school experience for you and your child.
Documents needed to complete the registration include: official birth
certificate, immunization records, two documents for proof of residency
(something with a mailing address included,) parent or guardian photo
ID, and custody papers if applicable.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Mrs. Harter,
Elementary Principal, at 548-3185.
