Fifty-five contestants met at the Great Darke County Fair Gazebo to
compete in the 2011 Little Miss & Mister Darke County Fair King and
Queen Contest sponsored by The Flower Patch. This year’s 2011 King and
Queen are Owen Marker and Jaydn Norris. The theme for this year’s event
was Under the Stars! Ken Kurz, Director of Development & Public
Relations at State of the Heart Hospice, emceed the event. Kim Bowers,

Stand-off near New Madison ends without injury
On August 22, 2011 at approximately 4 p.m the Darke County Sheriff's
Office received a 911 hang-up call from 3563 Vietor Road southwest of
Greenville, Ohio. Upon calling back the number the Dispatcher received
an open line in which she determined a domestic dispute was taking
place and the female caller was unable to communicate because her

Coy is still King of the Hill

GREENVILLE - While the Great Darke County Fair is known for some of the
best harness horse races, tractor pulls and a great demolition derby,
it also hosts horseshoe tournaments. Sunday, St. Marys resident, Lauren
Coy, won the annual event for the second consecutive year at the fair.
The 71 year old from Mercer County went 8-0 Sunday to claim the title.
