Washington Post... John Kasich: Spoiling for a fight in Ohio
- By George F. Will
Sunday, February 6, 2011 - COLUMBUS, Ohio - In 1997, when Republicans
controlled the U.S. House of Representatives and John Kasich chaired
the Budget Committee, he set his sights on the GOP’s 2000 presidential
nomination because “there just aren’t enough hours left in my life that
I can get everything done that I want to get done.” He was 44. The
presidency eluded him, as it has every sitting congressman other than
James Garfield (another Ohioan), so Kasich went to work for Lehman
Brothers (deceased), Fox News (flourishing) and now Ohio (ailing). His
ebullience - 12 years from now, at 70, he will still seem like a boy
who... Read More. See More

KIDNAP
REPORT FOLLOW-UP
|
Follow-up to Sunday night’s kidnap report
about 10 p.m.
By Lyn Bliss, Senior Scribe
At approximately 10:50 a.m., I talked to Detective Baker at the
Sheriff’s office… They will make no comment regarding the kidnap call
last night. When I inquired if someone making a fraudulent kidnap
report is prosecuted, he said no comment would be issued. I asked if I
could call him back tomorrow and he said yes.
Posted at approximately
10 p.m. Sunday…
Kidnap Report just heard on the scanner: There had been a call for
money. It happened on 47. Involves Darke County Sheriff's Department.
Union City and Randolph Co. Ind. Officers are in Union City. Followup:
The kidnap must be serious, as they are now doing two-way and telephone
communications rather than on the scanner. Sounds like it may involve
something up around Sidney, too. Confirmation by Sheriff Dept. reported.

REAGAN... MOST
RESPECTED PRESIDENT
|
Townhall... America the
Conservative?
By Steve Chapman
If you want proof that America is a conservative country, Ronald Reagan
provides it. Once seen as a reactionary nincompoop, he’s probably the
most respected president of the last 50 years. Highways and buildings
bear his name. Republicans compete to see who can lavish the most
praise on him. It’s not really surprising that Barack Obama has paid
tribute to Reagan on the approach of his centennial today. What’s
surprising... Read
