Greenville Eagles… Old fashioned
entertainment and great food
By Bob Robinson
Feb. 10, 2011 - About 150 Eagles members and their guests enjoyed a
great steak dinner and dancing to “The American Kings,” a 50’s and 60’s
Rock ‘n Roll band, last week. It was the Lodge’s monthly “steak dinner
and dance” held on the first Saturday of each month during the winter.
Couples and singles of all ages danced, twisted, hoola hooped, tapped
their toes, and just “listened” to their favorite oldies, ranging from
“Louie Louie” to “The Stroll.”

KIDNAP
REPORT FOLLOW-UP
|
By Lyn Bliss,
Senior Scribe
As of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Darke County Sheriff Toby Spencer
said the possible kidnap case is still being actively investigated. No
more information is available at this time.
“I'm taking the report seriously and continuing to actively
investigate.”
Posted since Monday...
There was a kidnap report about 10 p.m. Sunday. It included a call for
money. It happened on 47. Involves Darke County Sheriff's Department.
At approximately 10:50 a.m. Monday, I talked to Detective Baker at the
Sheriff’s office… They will make no comment regarding the kidnap
call. When I inquired if someone making a fraudulent kidnap
report is prosecuted, he said no comment would be issued. I asked if I
could call him back tomorrow and he said yes.

THAT'S MY
OPINION
|
A common sense
approach
By Bob Robinson
February 11, 2011 - County News Online posted a Stranger-Danger story
today from Citizens 4 Change, to be offered with the cooperation of
Greenville City Schools. Phenomenal!!! - I was disheartened to hear
that Greenville City Council passed its resolution Tuesday night to
increase the 1,000-foot buffer zone where sex offenders can’t live to
1,500 feet. The resolution also... Read

Human Events... Another tribute to Ronald Reagan
By Tony Lee
When I was three years old in 1984, I was hoisted on my dad’s shoulders
at Mile Square Park in Orange County, Ca. The event? It was
the reelection kickoff event for what would be Ronald Reagan’s historic
campaign that saw him win 49 states. Ronald Reagan... Read

FROM
THE
EDITOR - TODAY IS FRIDAY,
FEBRUARY 11, 2011 |
The big news of the week, of course, was Greenville City Council
passing the ordinance extending the restricted zones for sex offenders.
Thanks to the Citizens 4 Change, we were able to publish what I thought
was the first positive thing to come out of this whole fiasco… a
learning opportunity for kids on how to deal with Stranger Danger.
Greenville City Schools is aiding in the effort. You’ll find my
thoughts on it in this week’s Opinion.
