Darke
County Calamity Days, By Bob Robinson & Delbert
Blickenstaff, Senior Scribes
“We’re all hoping that school will be out by July 4!” … Comments noted
during CNO’s survey on “Calamity Days.” A calamity is defined as “a
state of deep distress or misery caused by misfortune or loss.” That
picture describes what happens when we have snow and ice on the roads
so that the school busses cannot safely transport students to school.
That’s why they’re called “calamity days.” And we’ve had a bunch,
ranging from eight to 10, depending on the school district. Current law
only allows for three days... Read More. See More

Rasmussen... What They Told Us: Reviewing Last Week’s
Key Polls
Saturday, February 12, 2011
Let the budget battle begin. House Republicans, feeling empowered by an

Truthout... Fox News Insider:
“Stuff Is Just Made Up”
by Eric Boehlert
Asked what most viewers and observers of Fox News would be surprised to
learn about the controversial cable channel, a former insider from the
world of Rupert Murdoch was quick with a response: “I don’t think
people would believe it’s as concocted as it is; that stuff is just
made up.” Indeed, a former Fox News employee who recently... Read More. See More News.

TRUTH AND

|
Townhall... Have a Little Faith
By Ken Connor
“We like to pretend that our experiments define the truth for us. But

true. When the experiments are done, we still have to choose what to
believe.” from “The Truth Wears Off,” The New Yorker, December 2010.
Over the last few centuries, our society has come to believe that... Read

DEM

Human Events… Lieberman, Harman and Vanishing Democratic
Moderates
by Michael Barone
Political pundits of a certain stripe have been lamenting the
disappearance of Republican moderates for years. It’s time now to
lament the disappearance of moderate Democrats. Last month, Sen. Joseph
Lieberman announced he wouldn’t seek re-election. He lost the
Democratic primary in Connecticut in 2006 because of his... Read

Vanishing moderates is worthy of note because I seem to be having more
difficulty finding them in my personal life. It’s tough having an
intelligent conversation when one side or the other is so far off the
wall that you can’t communicate. The biggie, though is the Fox News
Insider report that “Stuff is Just Made Up”… it’s worth a smile, if not
a horse laugh. Funny that the “made up stuff” on the other side was
never mentioned. In Community:
