A History of the Greenville Kiwanis Club
Edited
by Roy Haines. Compiled by William T. Maxwell and W. Roy Haines, Part 1
of 5 – 1921 through 1949 - The Kiwanis Club of Greenville owes a debt
of gratitude to Kiwanian
William T. Maxwell for the following history of the Club. Bill served
the Club as President, Secretary, Distinguished Lt. Governor and
unofficial Club Historian. The passing of Bill on September 10, 2000
was a great loss to the Club and the community. The Club history from
the 1920’s through the 1970’s, as compiled by Bill, appeared in “The

MANAGING

Townhall... A Short Course in
Student Loan Management
By Carrie Schwab Pomerantz
Dear Carrie: I’m in college, and next semester my student loan goes
directly to me for the first time. Since it must last the whole school
year, I’m worried it won’t make it. I’ve already written out a budget,

THE
EDITOR - TODAY IS MONDAY,

Greenville Kiwanis
celebrates 90 years of community service this year. Roy Haines, club
historian and reporter, has built a fascinating history of the club,
from 1921 through 2010. CNO will be publishing it in five parts. Be
sure to check it out. Government “dumbocracy” never ceases to amaze me.
The two Fannies – both government subsidized – need another $3.1
billion to stay afloat. Is it any wonder we are in financial crisis? In
