Essay on this year’s Farm Power of the Past
Teen Scribe Jessica Transve, who is also in Greenville High School’s
Interactive Media Television (IMTV) program, went on assignment to Farm
Power of the Past, held over the weekend at the Darke County
Fairgrounds. Here is her report… I went to the tractor pull on
Saturday, with most tractors pulling over 200 ft. Around 70 people
showed up for that. Other activities included a horse and pony pull
later that... Read More. More Community.

Early Morning Discovery Hikes
If you haven’t attended one of the Early Morning Discovery Hikes this

dependence on it. One of the negatives of a representative government
is its absolute ineptitude in so many areas, especially regarding
strategies for the... Read More. More Blogs. |

By Bob Beauprez
As the political tug-of-war wears on in Washington over a deal on
reducing the deficit as part of a compromise to raise the debt limit,

The President’s Excess Income, and Ours
By Mona Charen
It is becoming a verbal tic -- the tendency on the part of the
president to tell wealthy Americans (“people like me” he’s always
careful to add) that they have made more than enough money and will
have to cough up more of it for the government. Speaking for himself on

NOTES
FROM
THE
EDITOR - TODAY IS FRIDAY, JULY 15,
2011 |
The
commentary against President Obama grows more antagonistic. While I
don’t support the approach, I find it hard to fault the rage. He’s the
epitome of the Ivory Tower academic who simply can’t see the forest for
the trees. In News:
Unequal crack cocaine penalties cleaned up; Report: Graphic cigarette
labels to have slim impact; and Budget not an ‘assault’ on anyone,
Kasich says. Events: Transit Advisory (TAC) Committee Meeting. Blogs:
Obama Makes Us Eat Our Peas; Jobless Presidencies Should Result in
Jobless Presidents; and Teachers acknowledge that hard times require
sacrifice. For
