GHS Key Club meets with Kasich’s Regional Liaison
By Bob Robinson
“What would it take to keep you in Ohio?” Sandra Brasington, Gov.
Kasich’s Western Ohio Regional Liaison, told a half dozen Greenville
High School Key Club officers that this is what the governor would ask
if he had the chance… The responses boiled down to one word… jobs. One
student talked about engineering. Brasington said Danon Yogurt needs
engineers. The students didn’t know that… “So let’s connect high school
kids with companies,” Brasington said. Brasington and Darke County
Commissioner... Read More. More Community.

GATHERING AT GARST
|
Purveyor of Improbable Possibilities coming to the event
Lies! Lies, lies, lies! Pure unmitigated, adulterated, bald-faced LIES!
And mighty proud of it too! That’s what you’ll hear from Chris Supinger
at the Gathering at Garst July 30 and 31, 2011 at Garst Museum.
Describing his performance as “storytelling stretched to its limits,”
and “half truths so preposterous, they just might be true,” Chris
Supinger is sure to entertain as he “jes drops by” the Gathering at
Garst at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 30... Read

From the Speaker of the House...
Following media
coverage of the comments of Pres. Barack Obama on Friday, this is U.S.
Rep. John Boehner’s message to House members and staff:
Dear Colleague, Our economy is not creating enough jobs, and the

Ender’s Game
A Book Review by Elizabeth Horner
Ender’s Game is the type of sci-fi novel I would normally not pick up
if I saw it in a store. Doomsday prophecies, war and bloodshed, not
even a whiff of romance seemed like a formula for my displeasure.
However, I had read several other books by the same author, Orson Scott
Card, and loved every moment of it, so I thought that I would give
Ender’s Game a try. It was a shocker as page by page and chapter by
chapter, it cracked my... Read More. More Teen Scribes. |

Now House Republicans Must Fight The Gang of 6's Gangrene Plan
Posted by Erick Erickson
Think of the Senate “Gang of 6″ Plan as the “Gangrene Plan.” It will
slowly, but surely, rot away the nation. It was presented yesterday
with a few claims: (1) It was not designed to play a role in the debt
ceiling debate; (2) It was not meant to undercut the House Republicans’
“Cut, Cap, and Balance” plan... Read

Will College Bubble Burst From Public Subsidies?
By Michael Barone
When governments want to encourage what they believe is beneficial
behavior, they subsidize it. Sounds like good public policy. But there
can be problems. Behavior that is beneficial for most people may not be
so for everybody. And government subsidies can go too far. Subsidies
create incentives for what economists call rent-seeking behavior...
