Family Events... Technology creates new risks for kids, families
By Marybeth Hicks
For the past two weeks, my email box has been filled with notices that
someone else has added me to their Google+ social network. I joined
Google+ when my eldest daughter sent me an invitation, but I confess I
haven’t been back on the site since then because... well... I have no
clue what to do with it. It took me a while to figure out Facebook and
Twitter, so I’m not sure I’m ready for yet another site to juggle
conversations, updates, friend requests, and now “circles” of friend
requests. It’s possible I’ve maxed out on my technology-based
relationships... Read More. More Opinion.

MEDIA'S AGING AUDIENCES
|
The Economist...
Peggy Sue got old
Viewers, listeners and readers are ageing fast. Oddly, media companies

Group spied a gap in the market. How about a CD for people who grew up
in the 1950s and wanted to revisit the pop music of their youth? The
label pulled together songs by British and American artists, some... Read

TAXING THE RICH MORE: POLITICAL IDEOLOGY
|
Townhall...
Ideals Versus Realities
By Thomas Sowell
Many of us never thought that the Republicans would hold tough long
enough to get President Obama and the Democrats to agree to a budget
deal that does not include raising income tax rates. But they did --
and Speaker of the House John Boehner no doubt desires much of the
credit for that. Despite the widespread notion that raising tax rates
automatically means... Read

In Praise of Tabloids
By Suzanne Fields
What would a world without tabloids look like? Not as much fun, for
sure, if the tattletales and snoopers and others of irreverent ilk lost
their voices on the printed page. Who would supply headlines such as,
“Headless Body Found in Topless Bar” (New York Post), “Ford to City:
Drop Dead” (New York Daily News), or perhaps the pithiest of them all,
the show biz tab Variety...
