Let’s hear it for ‘The Man’
By George Starks

A lot has happened in the world of sports this past week. The firing of Joe Paterno at Penn State to be exact. This is one I don’t agree with. When the announcement was made, the student body went on a rampage in protest of this decision. Myself, I can’t blame them. Paterno is a living legend. The man is 84 years of age and has been with Penn State football for more than half a century. Students went to Paterno... Read More. More Sports.

Bribery
By Delbert Blickenstaff

I remember a few years ago when we “intelligent” Americans looked down on countries in Central and South America where their governments were controlled by bribery.  That is exactly what is happening in our own federal government now. In fact, details of how bribes work were clearly explained by Jack Abramoff in an interview with Lesley Stahl on “60 Minutes” November 6th.  Abramoff stated that the revolving door policy makes... by John Gizzi

The results of what was easily the most-watched contest anywhere in the nation last night were really no surprise.  In a statewide referendum that attracted nationwide funding for both sides and coverage from as far away as the London-based Financial Times, Ohio voters resoundingly rejected Republican Gov. John Kasich’s proposed
