Ribbon Cutting Ceremony... The 2012 Fair is Officially Open
By Bob Robinson
As it has for so many years in the past, the Official Opening of the
Great Darke County Fair was replete with public servants, fair
officials, media and a host of visitors and family members. I saw old
friends and made new acquaintances and had some interesting discussions
with many of them. I got to dig Darke County Commissioner Mike Stegall
a little when I discovered he and Eagles 2177 Worthy President Greg
Peck graduated from... Read

FROM ABRAHAM LINCOLN |
When dandelions bloomed
© By Abraham Lincoln
Heat and humidity was summer. Cold and ice was winter. We opened the

felt lucky to have a roof over their heads and to have survived The
Great Depression. If it was... Read

BIDEN: "PUT YOU BACK IN CHAINS"

The Crazy Fool From the Attic Turned Vice President Race Baits
Posted by Erick Erickson
In fairness to Vice President Biden, I supposed I should have a full
post for our collective crazy uncle in the attic turned Vice President.
The man from Delaware claimed that Republicans want to put people back
in chains. Considering there is only one group of people ever put in
chains in this country, it is clear... Read

THE EDITOR... ON THE INSIDE - SATURDAY, AUGUST 18,

articles are just getting started. The Ribbon Cutting ceremony was a
hoot, and for Harness racing fans, the Race Card for Saturday has been
posted. I covered the Cheerleading contest Friday and plan to post some
great photos with the winning teams in tomorrow’s County News Online.
Also, more Prep volleyball scrimmages… this time at Pitsburg with
Franklin Monroe, Arcanum and Newton. Oh, and by the way, I hadn’t been
on the fair grounds more than 15 minutes when I met up with the first
of two of my former students. In Letters: Patrick Barga and Amy Fashner question the possible cuts that include the Greenville Fire Deparment. For
