Living the Dream, Days 1 & 2
By Lyn Bliss
Have you seen pictures of teenage girls when they are excited – where
they jump up and down and scream?? Driving to the Columbus Airport, I
thought to myself, “If I was a teenage girl, I would be jumping up and
down while screaming!!” We had checked the flight schedules and all was
“on-time” at the moment of departing Greenville. When Jean and I
actually arrived at the airport, that was the first thing we checked... Read

By Lyn Bliss
Senior Scribe
Goats. GOATS! GOATS!!! Goats in every size, shape and color. Some with
ears, some without ears. Some with neck wattles, some without. While
taking pictures of some of the inhabitants of the goat barn, I made the
mistake of also having a plastic shopping bag of... Read

The passing of Neil Armstrong
Sent by a reader
Neil Armstrong… RIP. Perfect! "I was certainly aware that this was a
culmination of the work of 300,000 or 400,000 people over a decade and
that nation's hopes and outward appearance largely rested on how the
results came out. With those pressures, it seemed the most
important thing to do was focus on our job as best we were able to...

NOTES
& THOUGHTS
FROM
THE EDITOR... ON THE INSIDE - WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 29,
2012 |
The
new school year has kicked off in earnest. I had my first class at
Edison Monday, three more on Tuesday (two on the Darke County campus
and one in Piqua). Turns out quite a few students in my Darke County
classes are post-secondary and knew me from the times I substituted in
their schools. They didn't run screaming and yelling out of the room
when they saw me, so that's a good thing. With the presidential race
heating up, I'd like to thank Lyn Bliss for her reports (today and
still to come) on the Republican National Convention. Her first one
runs today. Also in Blogs: Al Bliss: Only in America. News: Can Romney unite Ohio delegation? Sports: World 100 warm-up at Eldora and Reds win in Arizona. Events: Local Nomination Celebration for Romney. Obituaries: Rhoda Elaine Baker and Ingrid Bryant Coby. For
