Living the Dream, Day 4
By Lyn Bliss
Day four—my, the time is flying!! The alarm went off way too
early! But, I think I better get used to it – we are
estimated to
be back to the hotel around 2 a.m. The Ohio delegation started out the
morning breakfast being treated to a whole new side of state auditor
Dave Yost. After welcoming us, he led us in America the Beautiful…
while providing accompaniment on a baby grand piano. WOW, is he GOOD!!
After that, he gave a rousing speech about... Read

to prosperity – and I know we can do this. I accept the calling of my
generation to give our children the America that was given to us, with
opportunity for the young and security for the old – and I know that we

DARKE
COUNTY COMMISSIONER
|
Is Now the Time?
By Mike Stegall
Several months ago at my “Coffee with the Commissioner” gathering at
New Madison, I mentioned that someday I thought Darke County would have
to take a look at going to a joint Fire district, and then maybe a
joint EMS district, or both. This was me just thinking out
loud
in light of the current and future economic conditions.
Believe
it or not, we elected officials do think once in a... Read

DARKE COUNTY FAIR |
Director of Agriculture Daniels
tours fair
By Bob Robinson
Amid the sour news on the economy around the country, there are a few
states that have managed to shine, or at least begin to show recovery.

drought. Darke... Read

Christie
Doesn’t Disappoint as he Rips into Liberals
By John Gizzi
TAMPA, Fla. – Chris Christie did not disappoint — the governor of New
Jersey, with his signature “in-your-face” style, tore into the Obama
record and hailed the Romney-Ryan team as if they were his beloved New
York Mets. It was a performance that lived up to the expectations of
enthusiasts like Rep. Devin...

NOTES
& THOUGHTS
FROM
THE EDITOR... ON THE INSIDE - FRIDAY, AUGUST 31,
2012 |
I wanted Ryan’s speech from last night… Googled a dozen sources, all
linking to the speech published on Fox News. I asked Lyn
Bliss if she could talk to someone… she did. Thank you Lyn AND the Ohio
Republican Party! They are busy in Florida, but they met my
request. Look for Condoleeza Rice and Mitt Romney tomorrow… and
hopefully the full text from Ann Romney’s speech. You may also note the
Emergency Services issue in Greenville isn’t dead… Mike Stegall raises
the question. Also in Blogs: Obama’s promises. News: Injury accident on 47; Ohio jobs report. Obituaries: Ingrid Bryant Coby. For
