2012 - OHIO STATE GOVERNOR JOHN KASICH
|
2012 State of the State Address
Gov. John Kasich held an historic State of the State address outside of
the Statehouse in Columbus. The site of Tuesday’s night’s address was
Steubenville, Ohio. That wasn’t the only thing “different” about his
speech. According to plunderbund.com “The AP’s Julie Carr Smyth
described it as “a rambling, unfocused address in the auditorium of an
elementary school” and that pretty much sums it up.” and “this speech
wasn’t scripted and he didn’t use a teleprompter.” Cleveland Plain
Dealer: “Kasich’s State of the State address is stirring, but vague.”
The Columbus Dispatch: “Kasich touts broadband, education.” According
to NPR, Kasich focused on workforce training, graduation rates,
colleges working with industry, and... Read

Dominica!
By Courtney De Schepper

scenery is undeniably breath taking. Most of the island is dormant
volcanoes that have now become these tall majestic mountains. The
population of Dominica... Read

the event for, what was at that time, the only real news source for
Darke County. At my side, as usual, was my then nine year old grandson,
Dylan Knoop. For three years, Dylan had... Read

A Defining Moment
by Thomas Sowell
Governor Mitt Romney’s statement about not worrying about the poor has
been treated as a gaffe in much of the media, and those in the
Republican establishment who have been rushing toward endorsing his
coronation as the GOP’s nominee for president -- with 90 percent of the
delegates still not yet chosen -- have been trying to sweep his
statement under the rug... Read
