2012 - VERSAILLES OUTLASTS CARDINALS, 35-18

V-Lady Tigers post win
By George Starks, Sports Editor

“An ugly win is better than a pretty loss.” The victory Versailles
coach Jackie Stonebreaker received Thursday against Midwest Athletic
Conference foe New Bremen may have been the ugliest victory
Stonebreaker has seen in quite sometime. In a low scoring, titanic,
defensive battle, Versailles outlasted the Lady Cardinals, 35-18. With
the offense being non-existent, it was the defense that Stonebreaker
could get happy about. “That is what we talked about in the pre-game,”
Stonebreaker said. “We... Read

they had it. Right before halftime, they lost it, but they knew that
they had to come back out with the same momentum as the first quarter
if they wanted to take the game. They did exactly that to end... Read

DARKE COUNTY TEEN SCRIBES

By Sam Armstrong
Author: “I tried to put a more human, modern twist on old history.”
Mary died in the month of March, and John took her body and wrapped
parts of her arms in the swaddling clothes she’d saved in a wooden box
in the second drawer of the maple dresser in her bedroom. They were old
and dusty, but John knew how much they meant to her, and besides, it
was what Joseph would have wanted. Jesus couldn’t believe she’d... Read

FROM
THE EDITOR... ON THE INSIDE - TODAY IS SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11,
2012 |
Today
was a good day. Several Senior Scribes and I met Darrell and Debbie
Biddlestone out at Shawnee Prairie. They presented their Second Annual
Ralph “Fred” Wright Memorial Scholarship check. What was also notable
about the occasion was the presence of CNO Sports Editor George Starks,
who accepted the check on behalf of the Senior Scribes. George
has been a major reason for CNO’s growth over the past year and has
become an integral part of our community service program. In News: 3 Vehicle Accident on South 49; Bill would restrict smoking in cars; Gingrich rally draws hundreds downtown. Events: Darke T.E.A. Patriots… Primary Candidates invited Sunday. Blogs: Who Would Jesus Tax? For
