Proposed Sales Tax Hike
Mr. Robinson, After reading your blog piece on the County’s proposed

officials who approved the design would disagree, and I guess some
people today think the pipes should be plastic. When the jail was
designed and built in 1982 it was “state of the art” and the only type
of facility that the state and local officials could or would approve.
(check the names on the bronze placque in the entrance) There have been
many changes in jail design over the past thirty years... Read

THE MAGIC OF GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES
|
Human Events...
The Volt Re-Evaluated: $250,000 Per Car
by John Hayward
I’ve long been fascinated by the sad tale of the Chevy Volt, a heavily
subsidized electric car nobody wants. It’s one of the purest,
most perfect examples of government attempting to artificially create a
marketplace, and failing miserably. At the time of the Volt’s launch,
when rebates brought the consumer price down to $33,500 (which is still
horribly... Read

FROM
THE EDITOR... ON THE INSIDE - TODAY IS WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15,
2012 |
I’m
getting plenty of feedback on Monday’s column, “Not Always Right, but
Never Wrong.” For a variety of reasons, they were FYI (ie not for
publication). Posted today, however, is a Letter to the Editor. Name is
being withheld, but I have gotten verification from the author, per CNO
policy. It offers some food for thought. And I also have a response
from Mike Stegall. You’ll see that Thursday. Also in News: Greenville Fire Deparment... Structure Fire at Fram; and Rasmussen: Reviewing Last Week’s Key Polls.
