DCCA’s Kuniko Yamamoto
By Brittany Martino
About this article… One of six Edison Core Values is Human Diversity.
In this course, Arts in the Humanities, the assignment was to determine
if one of Darke County Center for the Arts’ offerings qualified. This
is the opinion of one student. Martino: "One of my group
projects that I attended was the Kuniko Yamamoto performance. Before
going, I did some research about her. In the research I found that she
enchants audiences of every age with dramatic storytelling, using myths
and fables from ancient... Read

Mail Magazine 24...
The Food Police
by Ben Shapiro
In Hoke County, North Carolina, a four-year-old girl brought her
homemade lunch to school. It contained a turkey and cheese sandwich,
apple juice, potato chips, and a banana. All hell broke loose. A state
inspector pounced on the lunch as though he’d found a loose land mine
in the pre-school. He decided that the lunch didn’t contain all the

FROM
THE EDITOR... ON THE INSIDE - TODAY IS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24,
2012 |
Susan
Willeke from the Ohio Ethics Commission gave an excellent presentation
about ethics in public office last night, courtesy of the League of
Women Voters and the American Legion. She was entertaining and
informative… providing what I thought was pertinent information to both
the general public and our public officials. While attendance –
unfortunately – was sparse, I was pleased at the number of public
officials and political candidates who thought it was worth their time
to attend. Story to come soon. Also in News: U.S. Supreme Court Refuses to Expand Miranda Protections for Prisoners. Community: Ombudsman Office... Long Term Care Volunteers needed. Blogs: The EPA’s Regulatory Avalanche. For
