It’s All About the Kids
That’s My Opinion, By Bob Robinson
As more and more educators and young people discover County News
Online, they are seeing opportunities to showcase the talents of future
generations. How many of you knew that East School Fourth Graders had
their own newspaper? I didn’t. Not only do they have a school
newspaper, they are making it available to Darke County CNO readers
beginning Monday. Since its inception County News Online has been
viewed as a fundraising opportunity for the Senior Scribes Scholarship
Fund. It has been successful with more than $5,000 in scholarship
funds... Read More. More Opinion. |

Cleveland Plain Dealer...
Ohio teachers to be watched and graded on classroom performance
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Teachers across Ohio should expect a lot more
criticism of their classroom work in the next few years. Their
principals will be in their classrooms more. Or their assistant
principals, or even outside evaluators, all watching them, taking notes

SENIOR SCRIBES OPINION |
This letter is to everyone who likes to eat
By Al Bliss
From a very senior citizen who should know better. Functioning with a
few health problems in my seventh decade and after twenty years in the
Navy and thirty seven years married to bright, strong willed lady who
makes sure that each day is interesting (some much more than others), I
recently discovered what is a very old medical problem. Over the years,
I have considered... Read More. More Opinion. |

DARKE COUNTY TEEN SCRIBES

T.V. Wars
By Naiesha Thobe
I wanted to start off by wishing a very Happy New Year to all of the
readers of CNO. It’s been awhile since I’ve been heard from, so I’m a
little behind on the cheerful tidings, but better late than never. Now,

America’s favorite pasttimes: television! Who doesn’t like a good T.V.
show? Honestly, I don’t watch much T.V. I either don’t have the time or
I’m just not... Read More. More Teen Scribes.

Yesterday President Obama decided to do away with that pesky little
“Constitution” thing, and assign himself the power to make recess
appointments when the Senate is not in recess. The Constitution could
not be more clear about this: “The President shall have Power to fill
up all Vacancies that may happen... Read More. More Blogs. |
