2012 - WINTER IN THE MIAMI VALLEY
|
Will Darke County have a mild winter?
So far this “winter,” we’ve only had a few cold days and a couple minor
snowfalls. Snow has been predicted to start Thursday evening and
continue through Friday, probably a tough day today, but I doubt anyone
would argue that so far, it’s been mild. The 10-day forecast takes us
back into the 30s and 40s beginning Monday. Farmer’s Almanac Annual
Weather Summary for the Miami Valley says... Winter temperatures will
be near or slightly above normal, on average, despite a cold February.
Other cold periods will occur in late November, mid- and late December,
and late January... Read

that my first full year in the legislature is behind me.
Balancing time between Tipp City and Columbus can often be challenging,
but the past year has exceeded my expectations in a multitude of
ways. Whether it is working alongside my colleagues at the
Statehouse or spending time with the hard-working residents of Ohio’s
5th Senate District, my desire to serve the people... Read More. More Opinion. |

'FREE LIGHT' WHEN LIGHTS GO OFF

Solar Light during a Power Outage?
From a CNO reader
Editor: We never thought of this, don’t know if it’s a verity or a
balderdash. However, we thought we’d share it… Why didn’t I think of
this one? I have a friend who used her solar lights inside at night
when her current was off during the hurricane. She stuck them in
a jar or bottle and said they gave off plenty of ‘free light’.
She put one in each room and would put them back outside in the... Read

Yeah,
all right. Look out the window and it was pretty messy this morning,
but the prediction still seems to be for a “mild” winter. Also GHS is
still on lockdown, while the Advocate reported Thursday that the note
was just “found,” not given to a student. Hopefully police are close to
a resolution. In News: VERY SERIOUS Facebook / bank account hacks. Community: Enrolling now for Fall Preschool in Head Start Program; Events: “Building Blocks II” Parenting Class Planned; & County Offices closed January 16; Blogs: The Gun is Civilization. Obituaries: Julie M. Ell. For
