Shawnee Prairie... rich in history, nature and wildlife
By April Knick
Humanities 121
On October 25, 2011 I visited Shawnee Prairie Preserve. As I
drove down the long lane, my first thought was how serene and beautiful
the environment was. When I walked into the building I was
greeted genuinely by a volunteer. There was a bulletin board with
the daily/weekly activities. They were as... Read More. More Community. |

Are you smarter than a 60 year old?
Written by “who knows?”
Editor: I had fun with this. Only missed two. This is a test for us
“older kids.” Remember the Lone Ranger, The Twist, Satchmo, Red
Skelton? If you do, then you’re a prime target for the quiz. Enjoy. 01.

grateful citizens would ask, Who was that masked man? Invariably,
someone would answer, I don’t know... Read More. More Senior Scribes.

NOTES FROM
THE EDITOR... ON THE INSIDE - TODAY IS TUESDAY, JANUARY 17,
2012 |
When
I was in high school I always walked. By choice. Although if it was
really cold, I occasionally took a ride if it was offered by a passing
driver. Just like last week… it was freezing, the wind was biting, and
I saw a student walking home from high school. I almost stopped and
offered a ride… then thought better of it for obvious reasons. Sad.
