The Community Independence Day Parade
By Bob Robinson
I vaguely remember seeing an occasional fireworks display when I was a
kid… they weren’t that big in the 50s. It was usually a neighborhood
project. The celebrations I remember most were in Lincoln, Nebraska
when I was in junior high. We would block off our street for square
dancing (and other “square” stuff, like barbeque and beer; and pop,
sparklers, cherry bombs and snakes for the kids), divide up the two
sides of the street and... Read

three. Playing an all freshman team, Kindell threw his best, Jarred
Neikamp. Versailles built a 5-0 lead and kept the advantage... Read

In the hours following the Supreme Court’s decision to ratify
Obamacare, Romney got $4.6 million in donations from 47,000

FROM
THE EDITOR... ON THE INSIDE - TODAY IS THURSDAY, JULY 5,
2012 |
Wednesday
was all about the community Independence Day parades; Wednesday night
was about the fireworks. One of the things I saw was people standing,
some with hands over their hearts as the Honor Guard passed with the
flag flying high. I love rural pride in “Country.” Speaking of pride,
there’s community pride, too. My ears burned in New Madison… they say
their fireworks is the largest in the county! Check out an additional Blog, an analysis on Obamacare; Events… AT&T Cell Phone Recycling, and the Crystal Ball; and News… Senator Bill Beagle. Also an Obituary: Phillip “Boob” North. For
