Mid-Biennium Budget Review...

2012. In an unprecedented move, Governor Kasich directed the
state agencies to assess their spending and adjust their budgets
accordingly. This process is certainly a unique practice in the affairs
of state government. This additional step of fiscal conservatism
allowed our state government to identify ways to cut more than $91
million from the various budgets for the second year of... Read

For you the voter to decide
By Bob Robinson
“I really got angry with you when you asked Diane if she was going to
resign.” The gentleman’s reference, of course, was to Commissioner
Diane Delaplane and the announcement a couple of weeks ago that the
Office had agreed to a settlement with Whistleblower Melody Lucas that
will eventually cost the County well over $60,000. According to an
email from the Office it was due to Delaplane... Read

The ‘Path to Prosperity Budget’ is Quite Moderate
by Robert Maynard
As most are aware of by now, Paul Ryan has introduced a budget proposal
entitled “The Path to Prosperity Budget“. This proposal has been
demonized by the left and deemed to be “unfair” by the Obama
Administration. The argument is that the proposal is too radical and
goes too far in cutting the budget. I would like to make the opposite
case. There is a good... Read

FROM
THE EDITOR... ON THE INSIDE - TODAY IS THURSDAY, MARCH 29,
2012 |
It’s
been another long day in another long week, but it continues to be
“good” long days and weeks. One of the advantages of being a “Seasoned
Citizen” as Rush Limbaugh used to say (don’t know if he does it any
more since he ain’t that far away himself) is you get to do what you
enjoy. Teaching and writing! What more can I ask? Also in News: Obama calls for more renewable energy during Ohio visit. Events: Medicare Alphabet Soup to be held April 19. Blogs: Video: Obama’s Energy Secretary Gives Himself An “A” on Gas Prices. For
