Mitt Romney accepts the Republican nomination for
President of the United States
Condoleeza Rice's speech was provided courtesy of the ORP. While I
tried for two days, I had trouble getting on Mitt's site. Must
have been busy. When I finally got on, I pulled Romney's and Ann
Romney's speeches... Read Mitt Romney's speech Here. Read the complete text of Ann Romney's speech Here. Read Condoleeza Rice's speech Here. More News. |

REPUBLICAN
NATIONAL CONVENTION |
Living the Dream, Day 5
By Lyn Bliss
I’m tired – I’m coming home!! But, whee – a ride it’s been! This
whole week has FAR exceeded ALL expectations! I just don’t think that
my writings have given any sort of a full accounting of all the minute
by minute things that have happened. Right now, the bags are packed and
I’m ready to go to the airport – thought that might be a priority! It
was sort of a... Read

NEWTON GIVES A HARD FOUGHT BATTLE
|
Drama and heroics gets FM past Newton
By George Starks
PITSBURG- With 38:03 having elapsed off the second half clock, it was
looking as if a 0-0 tie was in the offing. In a match that was played
in a very physical manner by both Newton and Franklin Monroe, it all
changed with 1:57 left in the match. Off an assist from sophomore
striker Brian Robison, Daniel Wiseman scored the...

FALL BRINGS BACK MEMORIES
|
Fall
© By Abraham Lincoln
When tree leaves begin to change color and fall; it is fall. Fall
brings back memories of great tepee-like piles of leaves burning along
curbs. When you see pumpkins rotting on vines in weedy fields and choke
on smoke from burning leaves; it’s fall. Fall is when spent flowers
take on a startling... Read

GAME ENDS IN A TIE |
Lady Jets can't get past Newton
By George Starks
PITSBURG- When Franklin Monroe went up 1-0 early from a goal by Hannah
Lehman at 30:19 and then 2-0 when Allyson Manning scored at the 22:03
point of the opening half; things were looking good for the Lady Jets.
The momentum was in the Jets favor. Everything pointed to a Franklin
Monroe victory but it would not end the... Read

WE NEED TO STAND TOGETHER
|
Once in a Blue Moon
By Mona Leise
For those of you who wanted to read my writings again - THANK YOU. I'm
still stunned. Thanks for your encouragement. A number of us are going
through "life-changing" events. And yes, Deb; I agree. We need to stand
together. We are all we've got. It's interesting - all of us are close
to the same age... 50 - 56. We all grew up with the same moral
teachings. I've only encountered women... Read

THE ONE "SPECIFIC" HE NEEDED TO GIVE...
|
Redstate…
The Next President
By Erick Erickson
What a difference a speech makes. As Ari Fleischer noted on CNN, the
same media that was cool with the shallow vapidity of hope and change
in 2008 is now demanding specifics from Mitt Romney. Last night in
Tampa, he gave the one set of specifics he needed to give — a course
correction. The Democrats are screaming that it is a return...

NOTES
& THOUGHTS
FROM
THE EDITOR... ON THE INSIDE - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1,
2012 |
The
Editor’s photo once again features a recognizable figure… She’s tired
but heading home after celebrating the traditional dropping of confetti
at the end of the Convention. CNO offers a huge thanks to Lyn for
fitting articles into her hectic schedule for the last five days. I
also want to draw special note to a new columnist. Mona Leise has
joined the County News Online crew with her down-home weekly messages.
I enjoyed her first one… you will, too. Also in Blogs: Consumer confidence down. News: Sheriff’s Office called on a fight; $259 Million invested in Ohio business. Obituaries: Sharon Zechar-Siegel. For
