Commissioners sign “Paint the County Purple” proclamation

GREENVILLE – On July 8 the Darke County Commissioners signed a
proclamation declaring July 14 through 20 as “Paint the County Purple”
week for Darke County Relay for Life. In the proclamation,
commissioners urged communities, citizens and businesses to join in the
fight against cancer by decorating the towns, homes and businesses in
purple ribbons and signs, and to participate in the Relay For Life of

Overholser to speak at Annie Oakley Golf Tourney
Lisa Overholser, a cancer survivor, will share her personal story at
the golfing dinner banquet this year. The Annie Oakley Golf
Tournament will be held at the Turtle Creek Golf Course on July 22,
2013. The tourney starts out with lunch for all the golfers at
11:30. It features a shotgun start with scramble format, chances
to win great prizes, and dinner for the golfer and their guest.
