VERSAILLES – “Do fairy tales have a positive or negative influence on
young girls?” Lauren Gehret said she had heard them all as she was
growing up. Unrealistic? I don’t think so… “It gives girls something to
hope for, to dream about. If there were no fairy tales there would be
no magic.” About 15 minutes later Lauren was crowned Miss Chick 2013.
Six contestants vied for the crown at Versailles Poultry Days on June

Don McDermott, sports editor of the Greenville Daily Advocate from 1962
through 1966 and 1987 through 2001, has been elected to the Pahrump
