Ahrens wows crowd and ESPN
By George Starks
In yesterday’s game story on the Versailles victory over LaBrae High

referred to a first quarter dunk by Tiger junior Kyle Ahrens as a
'Thunder Dunk'.To be honest, it should be a poster shot as he nearly
took out Vikings defender Carl Brown. Not only did this bring a huge
crowd to its feet but at that moment, silenced the Vikings student
section. This one handed slam was, without a doubt, a thing of beauty.
The sad part is....Read

Versailles looks to go undefeated in state championship
By George Starks
COLUMBUS- When the OHSAA boys basketball tournament got underway,
Versailles coach Scott McEldowney said, “As of right now, we are 0-0.”
Three weeks ago, records didn’t matter for one reason. It was one and
done. One loss and the season was over. Ignore the 23-5 mark that
Versailles now sports or the 25-3 record Ottawa-Glandorf.... Read

She was 22 in human years and the oldest dog that Clayton Animal Care
had ever cared for at that time. She came from Denise Sabo who was a
student of mine over in Greene County when I taught there—Cuddles was
“family.” I...Read

Iceland and The Man In Black
By Mona Lease
Hi, all!! I attended a conference last year. I've heard words like
"global economy" and "Tiger Mom." I've watched sex be used to sell
everything - toothpaste, cars, deodorant, houses, boats, etc. I've
heard "bull market" and "Euro-dollar." You get the idea. I even watched
a televised interview with Icelandic President Otafur Ragnar Grimsson.
He's running for a fifth term, by the way. In a nutshell - Iceland did
not bail out their banks…

TOWNHALL
.A Health Care Solution
By Mona Charen
Mar 22, 2013 - In my last column, I argued that for all the undeniable
woes of the Republican Party, the unfurling of Obamacare represents a
huge vulnerability for Democrats. The Democratic health reform bill is
economically nonsensical and politically unpopular. A recent Rasmussen
poll found that 54 percent believe the law will damage the U.S. health
care system. Even among...Read
